How to Get a Card
Fill out an online application . You will be able to check out items as soon as you get your card.
- Cards are free to Wakefield and Brookfield residents, all teachers in the Paul School, Wakefield police officers, firemen and paramedics
- Must be six years old
- Nonresident cards are available at $10 for a three-month card (great for summer residents) or $20 for a year.
- All resident cards must be renewed every three years by calling the library to update contact info or by logging into your account in the catalog and editing your contact info there (see Manage My Account, below)
What can I use it for?
- Check out books, magazines, audiobooks, music cds, movies, museum passes and other items in the library, such as a telescope
- Make reserves, request items, update contact info and download ebooks, audiobooks and magazines in the online catalog
- Access online research resources
- Borrow from other libraries - interlibrary loan
Manage My Account
- Access the library catalog: https://gafney.biblionix.com/catalog/
- Log into your account (upper right) using your library card number and the phone number on file (no area code if in NH and no spaces)
- Click on ‘My Account’ to enter your account.
You will be able to update contact info, view notifications, see what you have checked out, renew, reserve, request an ILL (book from another library if you don't see it in our catalog), suggest a purchase, bookmark items for future checkout (kind of a "wish list") and see what you've read over the past year.
Please do not apply for a new card if you already have one, it will not work! Fill out the form and send. You will receive confirmation that your card is active when we have approved your application.
- If you don't remember your card number, give us a call at 522-3401 or email gafney@gafneylibrary.org and we'll send you your number.
- If your card number is not working, it may need updating. Cards expire every two years, so again, give us a call and we'll renew it for you.
