ANNUAL APPEAL IN PROGRESS

A common misperception is that the Gafney is owned by the Town of Wakefield.  Though we serve the Towns of Wakefield and Brookfield, as a private, non profit 501(c)(3) organization we are responsible for raising internally about 10% of our operating expenses.  To raise a portion of this income the Board of Directors conducts an Annual Appeal which begins in November.  Other fundraisers are held throughout the year.  This year's Annual Appeal goal is $12,000.

We could use your help!

Now you can contribute to the Gafney Annual Appeal using a credit or debit card using PayPal. Click on the DONATE button above and complete your contribution.  Otherwise, checks may be made out to Gafney Library and mailed to our PO Box, also above.

Here's the annual appeal letter

HELP US EXPAND THE GAFNEY!

Thanks to those who came out to ask questions at the community information meeting!  We gave a brief history of the changes in libraries nationally, regionally and in our library specifically; an overview of where we are in the expansion process and then opened the floor to the 35 people present.

Where do we stand now?  We are in the process of generating awareness of the expansion, networking, making as many folks as possible aware of our space needs and the services we can provide to our community.  If you can think of a way to help spread the word, shoot us an email:  beryl.donovan@gafneylibrary.org or call us:  Library Director, Beryl Donovan at 522-3401 or Board Chair, Dick DesRoches at 473-2216. We welcome and encourage your questions, concerns and/or comments to move the project forward.
